Default removing stuck helix on ezgo driven clutch

i was having a heck of a time removing the 2 halves of my drivin clutch and figured id try to give back a lil to this forum since its helped me a lot.

2 days of pb blaster and no help at all,,i was discouraged bad
i used a 3/4 threaded rod run thru the clutch and double nuts

the alum pipe in the pic is 3/4 could be steel as well..i used both hadns and squeezed the clutch apart turned it upside down so the helix end was down, and with the clutch squeezed completly together i slammed it on my steel table prob 10 good whacks before it finally broke loose..
i was worried about breaking the darn thing but this way i was using the alum spacer and threaded bolt to smack on the table, and the solid part in the center of the clutch wont break as easy as the rest of the cast alum..hope this makes sense..

discovered the ramp shoes were well worn down into the screws, but they did come apart

heres what the ramp shoes should look like"the back side"

this is what they really look like

from the ramps being worn into the screws the helix has a slight groove in it..i can buy a kit for 70 bucks that includes the new helix, ramps, spacer washer etc..but im a alum welder?should i weld this groove and smooth it out with a file? help

my buddy says to let the groove werar into the new shoes like brakes on a worn rotor..i cant do that myself, that just wouldnt be me

so im gonna stretch the spring a bit maybe while waiting on parts to rebuild my engine and rebuild this clutch also
