Have you got the (steering wheel puller) to remove the sheave in the proper manner?

They are mounted on a taper with a keyway too. Only way to get them off is a puller using the bolt holes on the front, a simple steering wheel puller usually works long as you find metric bolts that fit. Other way is not approved but has worked for me in a pinch. Get a rod of say 3/4 steel about foot long. Put the nut on the shaft a couple turns off from tight. Get under rear bumper and place the rod on the inner sheave in the meaty part between the ramps. Whack it with a 3lb a couple times then rotate to the next ramp. Be careful to keep the rod on the heavy part of the hub. They come off harder the longer they been on there. It will pop loose when it comes off. Remove nut rest of way it will spring off the shaft it will all come apart. Be careful of the little key in there usually they stay in the shaft but can fall out. Note where the spring is, what holes, if you plan to put it back in stock. If offroad and you use it again, it can help to stretch it out longer a little, and use a different hole that preloads it more. You have to wind the spring to the next ramp when you put it back on, that only applies to stock springs.

Thank you very much. I got a puller and got it off no problem. Reason I was taking it off is it was making a sound like a card in a spoke of a bike spoke.

They do wear through from belt and sand. The bushing can go bad too. Make sure its not the trans and the sound is transferring out the shaft.

Thanks for the info. What is the best way to check ? Stick a small rod to the part and listen ?

If you find a problem like a trashed bushing in it, then you know. Otherwise yes you can try spots on the case. The shafts go across and sit in bearings. Sometimes you can turn by hand and tell.
