Default 2000 club car ds acting a fool again

was here last year with this cart. turned out to be a weak fuel pump that worked when it felt like it. new year, another issue. drove it last sunday AM for a few holes and minus the occasional choke, it would always start and run fine. but in the afternoon i went to play more and backed it out of shed fine but when i went in forward to head to the tee it basically it cranked and no start. choke and all. let it sit for a spell and still nothing.
things I have tried
1. check the fuel pump by removing from carb and cranking. fuel comes iut at a good steady flow
2.removed plug and grounded on engine to see blue sparks. all good there.
3. I haven’t actually looked at the air filter yet but did remove air hose from
box and tried starting fluid while cranking and nothing. no pre fire.
4. disconnected ground from limiter and tried again with no luck.
5.removed carburetor and checked bowl, was full of gas and clean. also carb cleaner on the internals and checked the jets. reinstalled and cranked long enough to prime. no dice.

have not did compression test yet. will later.

this cart is becoming a major bummer. any suggestions? thanks

I'm going with:

You need three things for the engine to run, fuel, air, spark and compression.

thanks rick. I just ran a compression test. 158 psi. changed spark plug and charged battery. nothin. tried new carburetor too. no luck. I just don’t understand how it could work one day and then one morning and then the afternoon back it out in reverse fine put it in forward and nothing

Have you tried adjusting the valves? Make sure the valves are actually moving when the engine turns?

have not adjusted valves. i can take the cover off and crank it tomorrow. what am i looking for? also, will having a blue spark equate to having a fully functional ignition coil? when i dealth with this last year i replace it with a dumb cheapo. that didn’t fix it then. turned iut to be a faulty fuel pump that was bi-polar. the cheap coil is still installed and i still have the old one. i see amazon has actual kawasaki oem coils on sale for $80
