Re: custom club car lift for college...
if i was to do it i would attach it to the stock atv steering shaft with a welded on plate to mount the rack to. i wouldn't attach it to the quad upright.. putting it out that far behind the stock mounting location might bend easily or break the casting of the upright.. just my 2 cents...

Re: custom club car lift for college...
kinda like this. put it on the shaft that normally goes to the quad handle bars.... off of that upright shaft put a tab on and then attach the steering rack...

Re: custom club car lift for college...
Great idea. Ill check the measurements tonight to see if it would interfere with the left tire during suspension travel/left hand turns ...I guess I could always shorten the rack arm too - appreciate all your time!

It was a bit too soft, and it was a crappy job so I went back to stock later..but it steered just fine that way, like it was made that way. |

I really wanted to do it this way so I wouldn't have to buy anything else. Kudos if you pulled it off! But for my application the ATV frame pushed the rack so far back and to the drivers side that the steering arm angle was almost at 90° - making the joints not work very good. I ended up purchasing a Precedent Rack & Pinion which turns opposite of the DS rack. That allows me to put it on the front of the ATV frame just behind the bumper and steer the spindles from the front instead of the rear.
