Default 2002 TXT Governor

Can I remove the governor completely? If so how do I go about it? The cart sputters real bad at high speed and I just needed to know how to remove the governor so that the cart is still operational. I have been told that I will have to put in high sped gears if I remove it? Not real sure thanks for all the help.

the sputtering is the rev limiter on the engine, removing the governer won't help that, high speed gears and or taller tires is what you need to go faster

You have to take apart the rearend to completely remove the gov. or you can bypass it and run right to the carb but the gov. adjustment does pretty much the same thing. The sputtering is from your rev limiter cutting off the ignition, you should adjust it so it's not doing that. HS gears will help keep your rpms down so it stays below the rev limiter more.

I don't know how to fix the limiter problem, ask pizzamaker, he said he did it. apparently my knowledge goes no farther than attaching stuffed animals onto carts according to him.

sorry about ruredy,he did not take his nap today!
the rev limiter can not be adjusted, and it sounds like your already got the governor set tight.
why do you want to do this? is it to go faster?

To make it go faster and get rid of the sputtering. Also, the belt seems extremely loose as I can grab it and sqeeze together so belt is touching the other side. Thanks

You're wanting two things that cannot be accomplished together. The sputtering will not go away until you loosen the governour back up. That in turn will slow you down but you won't have the sputtering. You can go with bigger tires or a bigger engine if you want to go faster. Remember that the stock engine has it's limits and if you continue to run it at max rpm's you're asking for trouble. Just my opinion, of course! Good luck man
