Did it do this with the old battery ?
How long have you had the cart is it New to you ? Does it run OK other then this , it sounds like ignition switch is shorted , but if this were true it should still wait for you to press the peddle to start moving ? |

Re: 01 Club Car goes when switched F or R
Dad has had the cart about 4 years, it did not do this before the new batteries. Yeap it runs fine actually better than it has in along time.
And just to confuse me a little more its working ok today. Now, I've noticed that the solinod (I guess thats what it is) has one of the post that looks like it has been hot at some time, its melted a little. All the cables and nuts are tight all around. If you think of anything I'm listening. And yea I'm kinda new at working on carts. Dad got a 95 gas Club Car back in the Summer and I got the 01 electric one. All the batteries have been changed in the last 18 months and I recently checked them all after a full charge (thats when the last two were changed) all new cables. Gas and oil I understand, electric not so much. |

A hung or stuck solinoid will cause it to be energized all the time !

Re: 01 Club Car goes when switched F or R
I just got a 1989 ezgo. Didn't notice it till I had a full charge but mine does the same thing. Also I only get about 40 minutes of running on a good charge. Took it to the auto parts store and checked the batteries. All checked "good but needs charging". It should have had a full charge. I had charged for 10 hours or so before testing.
