Default briggs 18hp wiring

Ok so i got the engine in and im going to let everyone know the engine was from a generator. So The only wiring i have it a yellow connector with 2 plugs. So do i need to purchase a rectifyer or whatever? Are these engines able to charge when running? Thanks alot

I would verify that the engine has a stator for charging fist. You can also take a look at this thread for wiring info - http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/big-b...gine-info.html

yes, a rectifier goes to that plug and yes it will charge a battery.

ya i have the yellow plug that comes from the engine right above the starter. Assuming that plugs into the rectifyer. Thanks for the info would you happen to have a part number or where i can order it from? IM using the comet 780 clutch i orderd. I had that sleeve machined to a taper along with the clutch to a taper so it is on there with like a double taper with no key way. It works great and saved me a ton of money

part # 691185, a site sponser can hook you up or any small engine shop

you should make the spacers up and sell them, there is alot of deals on engines with the taper shaft
