G3 Gas Top Speed Increase
I have a 2 stroke Yamaha. At 25 mph it runs about 4,000 rpm. From what I understand this is a detuned high RPM engine. Based on what I have read, the engine is good for higher RPM, however, the starter/gen is not as it runs double the RPM of the engine.
Has anyone done a electric clutch or something else on the starter to disconnect it? I am looking for about 35 mph |

I can't remember ever hearing that this has been a problem.

Re: G3 Gas Top Speed Increase
The generator says that in the manual, but nobody has ever toasted one that I have heard. I ran one for years with stock tires that got lots of rpm with a cut head, cleaned out port, advanced timing, and it was fairly new. I used to run it down the street a couple miles for lunch wot all the way nearly. I know it went 30mph minimum it was a fast cart to start with. A little larger carb and some porting will help you.
