Default DS intermittent problem-advice wanted

I have a February 2010 club car ds. It has f/r rocker switch on dash. I have an issue thats driving me crazy. The cart always runs fine but occasionally it will stop working, it is always under the same circumstances:
-cart has been running for a while, normal round of golf
-then during middle of play, press pedal and nothing- I can hear MCOR click but no click from solenoid
-wait a few minutes and press pedal , cart will go a few feet then stop. The longer I wait the further it goes. IE wait 15 minutes it may go 20 feet then stop
-let it sit overnight and it starts and runs fine (with or without charging)
-solenoid does not feel hot, and plenty of charge on batteries
-NEVER stops while in motion, always from standstill.

Thoughts?
Larry

You’re sure it’s a Club Car DS? I’m not familiar with any of them with dash mounted Fwd/RVs switches, as stock anyway. The stock location would be on the forward facing panel of the seat base. EZGO & Yamaha used dash mounted switches. I understand it’s 12 years old and people may have modified some things, so I just want to be sure we’re all talking about the same thing. Maybe a few pictures, if you could?

Default Further info!!

Ok so it is not a DS but a precedent/villager with regen. I was getting ready to take off the solenoid and replace it and I was shocked to see that there was no resistor/diode at all between the posts. Could this be causing my issues all this time. The shop had replaced the solenoid some time ago and this problem started shortly after and is getting worse.

I’d guess the solenoid is bad.
The resistor isn’t necessary on some controllers, but I don’t know if the Precedent ever used those. All of them should have a diode on the small posts, although the original Albright solenoids have the diode soldered directly to the spade terminals and it’s small so you may have to look close to see if it’s there.
Check if the solenoid is an actual Albright or if it’s an aftermarket.
Look at the controller and see if it has a 16 pin or a 24 pin connector. That will help with where to go from there.

That controller needs to have a pre-charge resistor on the large posts of the solenoid.
The solenoid may be part of the issue, but get the correct resistor installed and see what changes before replacing anything else.

There are soooo many resistors out there on different websites- can you specify the correct one?
Thanks

Scroll down near the bottom, Scottyb gives a great tutorial on diodes...

And none of that is applicable here.

Correct resistor for your cart: https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...8-volt-1014947
You can Call David and verify. He will know exactly which one you need.
