Followed your info and all is well! The timing seems ok. I cleaned up the coil, and set it correctly with the magnet. I got the cart to fire up. it is still having a hard time igniting but I'm confident it is now a carb issue. The initial problem with the starter was bad ground. I had no idea a ground wire could get that hot! This cart had multiple minor issues so hopefully, a new carb will get it running.
What threw me off was the engine not firing with ether. It had spark all along so it just didnt make sense. Thanks for all the advice!! I certainly learned a few things that I could not find online. |
