Default Start up is better in Reverse than Forward?

I have rebuild the engine it has very good compression and runs great but seems to be a bit faster on take off in reverse than forward? Anyone know why or is that the way they are?

I did search but I was not sure what was good info for my situation.

Thinking about replacing the drive clutch, it doesn't seem to be compressing all the way?

Is it a 2 stroke? Or 4 stroke twin cylinder?

If it’s a 2 stroke may be a rolled or not fully seated crank seal. That’s a pretty common symptom of a bad crank seal running better in reverse than forward.

If it’s a 4 stroke twin, I’d lean more towards clutches. Give them a good inspection for wear and a good cleaning.

brand new crank seals.

if a crank seal is bad why would it only effect it when it goes forward?

If one is bad will it start to blow oil out at some point?

No. There’s no oil inside a 2 stroke motor. The crank seals prevent air from leaking in/out of the crankcase. Could be a rolled crank seal (improperly installed). Could also be your ignition timing is wrong underneath the flywheel

Oil blows out on a 2stroke when the base gasket blows but it’s cinda normal because there is less ware on reverse components because you spend less time in reverse in turn putting less ware on those parts and so it will run better in reverse because of that lack of ware don’t take anything I just said too seriously

Would a new ignition coil help?

what parts could I replace to help it?

could the ignition coil be an issue if its timing?
