Fuel pump
I replaced the fuel pump and lines on my 1984 ezgo marathon. Do I need to prime the pump somehow?

Re: Fuel pump
It should prime itself when you crank the engine.
If not you can remove the gas cap, and use a LITTLE compressed air to lightly pressurize the tank and it will force fuel out the line and through to the pump. But 99% of the time just cranking the engine for about 10 seconds is all you should need to do. If it won’t prime itself, make sure you have a good pulse to the fuel pump. Little or no pulse can often be caused by leaking crank seals or bad reeds. |
