Default 1968 Harley-Davidson DE

I have an opportunity to pick up a 60s vintage Harley-Davidson electric cart. I would like some insight on the drive system, brakes, etc. if anyone knows about these things. Also, what would a cart like this be worth? It does run and comes with a charger. Sorry for the small pics, it's all I have right now...

I gave $400 for a similar cart for my Mom a few years back. Still going strong.

I have no idea about the value but you gotta get that thing! Really cool and nice shape looks all original!! I see it even has the golf bag racks on the back which I see many are missing.

It's a resistor style series drive system, so in that respect it is about as simple as you can get. Brake (yep, one) should be on the shaft connecting the motor to the rear end, it's a disc setup. What would I give? No more than $1000, that's the top dollar "just gotta have it" price IMO. I'd be comfy around $750, and increasingly more happy the smaller the numbers get.

I recently sold my HD gasser and had a heck of a time finding interested folks. There is a market for them, but it seems pretty small in my area.

An old HD cart started all of this madness for me. If you get it, Jake, you could purdy it all up like I did mine...

I kinda miss that old cart.
