replace motor brushes
Thought I would take a look at my brushes on my 48 Volt CC DS. 2002 and used a lot. Dropped the axle on the passenger side and was able to pull out the armature and half the motor. Ok, now is there an easy way to remove the brush housing from the armature? The brushes were worn quite a bit but still functional. It appeared the armature was not pressed on into the housing far enough. The brushes don't sit on the armature all the way. Also the armature is pretty rough. Hopefully I can have the armature turned and replace the brushes. First I have to separate the armature from the housing. Any ideas? It is a 5.5 hp motor and still runs pretty good about 24mph.
