Sportster powered 3 wheeler
Just wondering if anyone ever put a sportster motor in a 3 wheel Harley cart? I may want to some day ,I tried looking around but found none.

Re: Sportster powered 3 wheeler
I've seen pics of a sportster powered ezgo shuttle 6 before, like the red cart in my sig. The engine had to sit right behind the front seat to fit. they said it would run 60-65mph. I believe it would be suicide to do that with a three wheeler if it would even fit.

Re: Sportster powered 3 wheeler
I do not want high speed ,even if I had to add a jack shaft or a extra tranny to gear down say top speed 30 or so.I was just wanting something to take to bike rallys ,what woud be cooler than a Harley cart with a harley bike motor? I will find a way to do it givin the time and money ,just see no need to reinvent the wheel if it has already been done.

I don't believe I have seen one, here or elsewhere. It does seem logical, doesn't it? Harley motor in a Harley cart. Do you already have the cart, or just starting to think things through?

Re: Sportster powered 3 wheeler
just got a 3 wheel cart I think it is a late 70s.put on a new battery new gas and a little carb cleaner and it runs smokes a lot but sounds good ,the gas tank had been full of bad gas ,so maybe that will clear some when I run it a while ,I am just thinking of long term plans, may be better off to use a 4 wheel cart for a bike motor swap, this is my fist cart but have grown up with bikes so one day I will have to do it .

Re: Sportster powered 3 wheeler
I was thinking a four wheeler would be a better option, let you enjoy a motor like that more.......

A 3 wheel cart with the front tire raked out (chopper style) would be bad a$$, but may be a pain to drive.

I was detaling bikes with my dad the other day and I just kept looking at those motors and thinking.... Oh man wouldn't that be sweet!!!
