Default Honda 340 swap using 3pg clutch?

Has anyone used the two stroke 3pg clutch on a clone or Honda swap?
Got a 1991 marathon 3pg
A Honda gx 340
A Yamaha g9 rearend
Looking for any information if it a bad idea or not.
Also have a few good g2-9 primaries around, but would like to keep this cheep for my brother.

Most of the stock cart primary are similar rpm and should work, IMO the G9 would be smoother and I know it works great on a 420 clone its perfect for a stock clone. Once you mod it not that good as you can't raise rpm. I don't know what difference a 240 makes compared to a gx390 or 420 clone, but all lawn engines are 3600rpm and carts are about the same range so yes it should work as well as whatever condition it is in. A tired clutch that does not work that well will be the same on any engine and why lot of people will recommend a new clutch anyway. A 780 is often cheaper than repairing the stock cart clutch. I ran my 420 with the stock g9 clutch and a few minor mods for years, it worked great, have another stock 420 still running a rebuilt one it works great. The modded 420 I put a 94c on and its faster but a lot of tuning issues.

I think the gx340 is 340 cc.
Good point about the similar rpm range, so it should work.
