Default Where to connect 12v lighting in 48v cart

Drive2 has USB in the dash so cart has a converter,,,,Do I still need a converter if I was to add undercarriage lighting? I don't want to use the usb as a source. Am I able to use the converter on board or connect to the batteries someway to get 12v?

Check the voltage coming to the usb device. If it is 12v follow it back to locate the reducer. Then determine if that reducer can handle the additional load (LED lighting is minimal load)

The USB converter isn't strong enough to power your lights.
I have done it a couple of different ways.
Some lights have a voltage window of say 12-20 volts. If that's the case I run the lights off of two batteries. Not the best. Not the worst.
If you do install a 48v to 12v converter, Get a good one. The cheap converters can fail and have send the full 48 volts to the lights.

I used this one. It shuts off with the key, unlike some other ones...
