Re: 2001 Gas ezgo txt engine drag
Ends up that the driven clutch is bad. Is it better to rebuild this (looks like just a spring) or just get a new one?

No not a driven clutch but I have a drive clutch. Have you rebuilt one, if so is it difficult?

Spring has some pressure on it but nothing bad. You have to clock it when you put it back together. I set mine at 120 degrees and then press it back on the splines, put lock back in and you are good. Ramp buttons wear out and need replacing after lots of use and they still can be bought. The tool I made you just put a large Phillip screwdriver in the hole and turn it clock wise until you get about 120 degrees. I use two C-Clamps opposite one another to hold it in place while I turn the center part using my tool . Hope this helps some. |

Thanks. I watched some videos as well and looked pretty simple to do and I have seen several styles of tools made to do this as well.

Re: 2001 Gas ezgo txt engine drag
Ok this may be a stupid question, but I just replaced the driven clutch with a brand new one. Is there any reason that the new clutch would cause the engine to heat up quick? I replaced the clutch and now when I drive it gets REALLY warm under the seat. I just had the values replaced in the fall. Any chance this is related to the clutch or just a coincidence?
