Default 84 cart throttle cable, linkage and governor concerns

Hello . I have a 84 CC with bad throttle cable and missing governor rod.. I am looking to make or get a rod somewhere/how.. I replaced the cable that goes to the governor control arm.it was not smooth and would bind . I would like to know the proper adjustment for this . also adjusting the governor will be a great help . Going to try to post pic or link so you can see. Thanks In advance B2R

What you're missing is not the same as the governor rod, I can see the governor rod in your picture. The governor rod is that long rod that goes from the throttle back to the rear axle assembly. Here's what the throttle rod should look like. I can take a better pic of it when I get home. I may even have an extra one.

I don't know what the correct procedure is for stock, but this is where you adjust the governor on 1984-1991 carts with the KF82 engine. Loosen that bolt and move the rod to where you want it, then tighten the bolt back up. The further towards the front the rod is, the faster the cart gets. To slow it down, move the rod towards the rear. Factory setting may be all the way back but I'm not 100% on that.

Springbok
Thank you so much. Please let me know if you have an extra one. I was wondering if you can help me adjust the new cable i put in. I notice when not running it does not return to closed position. when running it does. does this have to be set with accelerator pedal in a certain position?

I think all adjustments are made with pedal at it's normal rest position. I've never made an adjustment to the area you have circled, I made all my adjustments here (red arrow):

I didn't use any specific method to adjust mine, just played with it until it worked.

I do have an extra throttle rod. PM me your address and I'll just mail it to you in an envelope.

What do you mean your diff plug? You mean in the transaxle?

There is a open hole on the differential left side of cart. I am automotive Oriented there for I'm calling it a differential because it holds the axles to drive to tires. When I get home I will take a picture of it later tonight.

Look at the pic I posted in this thread. We were talking about the locations of drain and fill plugs on the transaxle the other day:

Here is what i am asking about. I checked out the other thread. I have changed the oil in the the unit that does the forward and reverse. Had some kids on it and jammed up the reverse synchronizer. I have also drained the rear axle but i am lost what is the open hole is.. Just checked out the exploded view in diagrams label
Rear Differential/Axle Assembly . still really can not see what is there. hmmm
