Default serial number

J1594 means it was built in 95? From what I have looked up on various sites the model year begins in july and would start with an A and then carries over to the next year. So J would be April of 95 even though I have 94 last 2 numbers. Correct?

The last 2 digits of the manufacture code are the year it was made.

I understand that the model year is 94 but 3 different web sites say that the J means it was made in 95. What I really need to know is if it is a 1994 or 1994.5 Whats the difference? I know it is different if you want to buy a lift kit.

1994.5 was the model change year from Marathon to TXT (Medalist specifically)
Ezgo was never clear on when they made the change. Factory was instructed to build Marathons until they ran out of frames and then start on the TXT models so we don't know if that happened in May or September. We only know there were some TXT Medalist made in 1994 and by 1995 all carts being made were built on the new TXT platform. Easy to tell. The Marathon has a hump in the center of the floor and the TXT floor is flat.

I may have a hybrid because some of the wiring looks pre 1994.5 according to other posts I have read. I have another thread related to this issue.
