Default Removing old paint from roof I just bought

I found an old roof in good shape locally for my 1999 Club Car DS. The paint was flaking off several areas. I got all the loose paint off with a plastic razor blade, but some areas have paint that is still adhering to top. Don't want to use a scraper or sandpaper because of the textured roof.

Any help on what painter remover/stripper to use that won't hurt the plastic roof

I just sandblasted mine. Have to be careful not to cut too hard and dig into the plastic but I think it took under 10 minutes. Gives a nice roughened surface for the new finish to adhere to too. Took longer to get out the compressor and blaster pot than the job itself.

I’ve used paint stripper (for furniture) on them without any damage to the plastic. No guarantees it won’t damage yours, but I’ve done it many times.

I don’t remember exactly but something from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Likely similar to this…

1-Quart Extra-strength Oil Paint, Alkyd Paint Stripper Semi-paste https://www.lowes.com/pd/Klean-Strip...-qt/1000659649

As bad as it is peeling maybe just a good pressure washer.

A pressure washer with a turbo nozzle will loosen a lot of that.

What’s your goal with it? If your gonna repaint or plastic restore I would hit it with a wire brush and spray over what’s there.

If you are willing to go black I use this stuff and it lasts and doesn’t fade. Look at the Amazon link I posted in the thread

I am going to repaint black. Just don't want the old paint to peel taking the new paint with it. Limited with what I have to work with here in Florida, all my stuff is back home in Michigan.
Think I will try wire brush and Bumper Coater stuff
