Default Lithium options

I have a hunting cart..the beast 48...basically ezgo txt with alot of upgrades...I wired it up to run off of chevy volt 48 volt cell x2 for 100 amp hours...my kids got on it and ruined the batteries...my fault because I had the BMS set wrong for low voltage.

I really want to replace it with something similar amp hours ...volt batteries got 3 years ago for 900$.

I'm trying to be as economical as possible...pleas help with brand/modle options if you know of any...only option locally here in Mississippi is eco cells for 2800$

That Eco battery is the best drop in solution, but since you’ve already built your own, have you considered doing it again? Use LiFePO4 this time. You’ll need a new BMS as the one you have is 14S and you’ll need 16S but it will work out much cheaper than a drop in.

Have a look here https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=188399 member @Augiedoggy is currently in the middle of such a build.

Cheers
Pat.

I went with a DIY lifepo4 solution using 16 90ah cells and steel enclosure with 300/500 bms... it also cost me close to $900 when completed. You'll notice some extra hardware in my compartment like the MPPT solar controller for charging the cart off of the solar panel roof and the basket for my beer cooler which is essential at the campground. https://buggiesgonewild.com/showthread.php?t=188399

Man....I think (and my thoughts and $1.25 will get you a coffee) if I were to do it all over again, the drop in packs look great because of the simplicity of drop...bolt....drive.

But that drop...bolt....drive cost some bucks. Or...as I say to my wife and adult children...you pay with time, or you pay with money. What's your time worth?

The plus about the self-build packs are the learning curve and knowledge gained in understanding important "stuff" like amp draw, continuous draw, peak draw, and what AMP\HR vs AMPs mean. Of course, cell balancing and Low Voltage (High too) cutoff's and why they are important.

All good stuff to consider when\if you are going to make the swap. IMHO it's one of the best things you can do when you use your cart often.
