1981 244cc 2pg case seal, gasket or not?
I will start on the rebuild and don't see a crankcase gasket in the kit I purchased. I see rtv on the case split but it looks like it also has a gasket. Is there one or not? If not what is the recommended sealant for it? Thanks, Kevin

No gasket.
Post #7 here. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...-when-hot.html Many types of gasket in a tube products out there. Pick your poison. EDIT: A friendly reminder to make sure the piston goes in with the square hole facing the intake side, and rings with bevel side up. It will save you a lot of future grief. |
