Default 48V Villager 6 vs. 48V Transporter 6

Even the official Club Car website doesn't make it very clear what the differences are between these 2 models. Can anybody clue me in?

Thanks

The guys over on the clubcar section probably could help more with this.

Well your darn right about that! Sorry. I'm just so used to spending my time in here since I own 2 Drives. I want to get a 6 passenger cart and hence my questions about the Club Car models.

While I've got the attention of the Yamaha forum, has anyone stretched a Drive? I'm thinking that I might just stretch one of my carts rather than try to find a nice CC to buy.

It seems like it would be fairly easy to stretch. Are there any surprises lurking?

Yamaha calls them YDRx_Svs (specialty vehicle short = 1 extra row), and YDRx_Svl (long = 2 extra rows). You could do it yourself, and use as much or little of the pre-made trim/body pieces to make it look nice (they take a standard one off the line and cut/strech frame).

This is very encouraging. Do you know how much longer the YDRx_Svs is than the standard YDRE? If I stretch that length then I could purchase the appropriate stock brake cable.

My Dad has a late 90s' Club Car Villager-8,its' basically a normal DS with 2 more rows of seats.Everything in front and rear is identical to a standard DS,except for heavier springs and front brakes on the limo.We switched it over to gas and parted out a stock DS for the axle,brackets,shifter,etc..I've never heard of a Transporter, wonder if its' more of a utility-based machine?
