Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
Howdy folks, so I reached out to Robby at PQ about the differences between the Cheetah vs Executioner (IE, is the Cheetah the same motor wound for more torque and a little less speed) He replied that the Executioner would work for my needs but then said they have a new AC motor conversion kit, that sounds eerily like the Navitas 5kw AC motor kit. Also pretty much the same price. Anyone heard or seen anything about this new kit from them? Is this kit just the Navitas kit re-branded? Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
Wow, that sounds really interesting. I wonder what type of magic they can do with a AC motor?

Re: Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
I sent him an email Thursday and got a reply Friday. I sent a follow up email basically asking what I asked in my first post. I'll update when/if I get a response. I just wondered if anyone had already heard of this since I didn't see anything about yet on the forums. Although I am still getting used to the format of this site so I may be missing it somewhere.

Re: Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
Two months ago when I first contacted Plum Quick by phone they were very helpful and answered all my questions. A few weeks later I sent in my motor, got it back and have been running it. It's quiet, smooth, has more pull off the line and goes at least 2 mph across the board. It did take a few days longer than normal and when talking with Robby on the phone he was saying how they normally are very busy this time of year with 110-120 motors in the shop. He said they had 240-250 motors in the shop. Golf courses are opening up and people have been working on their carts. His parts suppliers around the country have been impacted. They have been working 14-16 hrs a day. I got a call back for a question I sent thru their website on Memorial Day Monday. I'm very pleased with their product and service.

Re: Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
I asked the question and shook my Magic 8-ball and it continually says:
As I see it, yes. It is certain. It is decidedly so. Signs point to yes. Without a doubt. Yes. Yes – definitely. |

Re: Plum Quick AC motor?!?!?
Sounds exactly like the Navitas kit. Either way, I'm guessing they've probably tested this for a while and have been happy with the reliability and performance from it. Those AC kits are crazy fast.
