Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
I guess mine is different, maybe something got changed during the stretch process. I can see daylight though the floor and sides of my current “battery tub”
Anyway. - I think I will plan to line the current “tub” with aluminum |

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
Post a pic of your tub. That would be helpful in analyzing if you need to do more to it.

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
If later than 2008 CCP, here is what the tub would look like with a single pack. Controller plate only has the Tow/Run still wired to back side, controller and solenoid moved into tub, along with charger and DC-DC converter. No harness mods required. Aluminum plate was added to rear controller plate to add new motor wire hole an close up the other holes.
You'll need a different layout plan since you are going with a double pack. |

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
You may be good with that current "tub." Any gaps can likely be covered in by some plastic and "GOOP" cement. IIRC GOOP dries to like 98% and stays flexible so the crack or joint won't come apart later.
I used it to fix a long.....like 15"....of my cart windshield. Now...remember....I use my cart for hunting so "pretty" on the windshield means NADA. |

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
You didn't mention (or if you did I missed it) what BMS you were going to use. If a ZEVA I would recommend the ElCon charger from these guys: https://www.elconchargers.com/catalo...0/10295151.htm Have it setup so you can change the charging parameters from your ZEVA.

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
Hijacking the thread a little, but found the thread via a search on lithium and seems like jeffro22 had some similar questions to me (and a lot of others) when deciding what pack to get - Leafx7, Leafx14, Volt, BYO LifePo4 Prismatics, "drop in" battleborns, etc.
As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, the sizing of your lithium pack "depends" on a lot of things from how your current cart is setup (controller, motor, tire size, etc) and how you want to use the cart (distance, terrain, etc). I'm struggling with this exact scenario as I try to work out what batteries to purchase - my cart setup is pretty much already locked down (AllTrax XCT500 Controller and Admiral A2 Motor) and this is "basically" a battery swap. Finally, my question: Can I just buy one of these $20 devices: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T8GN61Z/ And then just do my "maximum" run in the cart (which for me is 18 holes at my local course) and then use the data that the above device logs (Total Ah used in my 18 holes) to determine what size battery fits my needs the best? Thanks, Matt |

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
I did a 7 pack, now looking into adding Another 7. If you can do 15, do it. My concern was location, 14 straight wouldnt fit so it has to be split.

Re: Lithium conversion for club car - ?s
I get 40 miles out of a 14 module Leaf pack on mostly flat street/course driving with an Alltrax XCT500, 20" tires stock motor.. Thats as set up with a measured 90AH of useable capacity.
