Default more power

i have a 89 g2 just wondering if any body knows how to get more power from stock engine? shave head?? or can you get diff cam?? or??

The cheapest and best way to get more power is too completely bypass the governor by hooking pedal throttle cable directly to the carb. and installing the spring/spacer torque kit. You can also install an oversize jet and k&n type air filter and modify the muffler for better air flow.

thanks for the reply. i'm new at this so forgive my ignorance but how much bigger jet would you suggest and can iget it at my local yam. shop? and how should i mod my muffler?

chances are that old engine has alot of hours on it, maybe wouldnt hurt to freshen it up. a complet rebuild of those engines is dirt cheap. when i did mine i shaved the head .020 and bored it out .035.. a fesh valve lapping to make sure they sealed good really made a huge difference. i was running 26in blackwaters with the stock clutches. worked pretty good!!
