Default 89 Ezgo fuel pump issue

I just purchased my first golf cart, a 1989 Ezgo and was told the fuel pump was not working.. Got the new pump today and snapped one of the old bolts off in the side of the engine.. What is the easiest way to gain access to that area in order to drill out and re-tap the threaded hole?

Thanks in advance

to cleanly remove the old bolt i think you have to remove the engine. no way see if you are getting staight shot for the drill bit. remove is pretty easy. take off the belts, all wires unplug-just tag them.,unbolt ground cable, and then remove the 4 engine retaining from below.

good time to clean up and check you motor mounts. good luck
also pull the oil line if it is still hooked up-also good time to get rid of and go to premix-a lot safer.

just disconnect all of the oil lines and then plug the inlet on the carb manifold. or just remove the inlet and plug the hole with a fine metric screw and some gas resistant sealer like permatex.

nice fast work. i now see i forgot the muffler
