Question Clutch Issue- need help

Ok weird issue with the cart.

In almost all situations great power with the cart.

EXCEPT for one condition. Going up a steep 10 foot tall dirt pile a little slow. hit the gas halfway up and the front clutch spins on the belt. Rear transaxle locks up. I can look down and see the rear clutch not moving with the belt being pulled down into the clutch sheaves. I can back off, drive around and as long as I have a little speed it is fine. It is just in this one condition that the cart doesn't like . I was expecting it to just spin the tires but it didn't.

I really need to take a video of some stuff that I am driving through. this thing is crazy! cant wait to see what it is like when I can do full throttle

Sounds like a worn belt or a bad rear clutch. It shouldn't be in the transaxle. Is the belt moving or is it just being pulled tight in there and the front clutch is just spining?

front clutch spinning
the rear sheaves are not moving and it looks like the belt is not moving just get sucked into the sheaves.
belt is pretty new only like a month old.
of course with all the work I have done on the cart it is very possible that I got some oil on the belt also.
need to put some belt dressing on the belt
maybe order another belt.

Yep, try cleaning the belt and put the dressing on it.

Either The Spring In Your Rear Clutch Is Broke Or Your Rear Clutch Is Not Assembled Correctly. What Spring Do You Have Back There?

I have had the rear clutch apart 5 times in the last month.
The spring is not broke. I just put it in B1 as described in my build thread. Then I pre loaded it about a turn and a half.

It is assembled correctly
torque spacer, helix, spring in B1, clutch sheave preloaded 1.5 turns against the helix buttons, plastic washer, outside sheave, washer, nut

The clutch sheave is VERY loose on the shaft as well as the ramps are worn compared to the heliex.
So what might be happening is the movable clutch sheave is cocking on the shaft and effectively wedging the belt in place.

What I might do to test this theory is pull the clutch sheaves off my G9 and put them on the G16.Which has a complete Plowmans clutch set up and see how it drives then.

Could it be not enough preload on the rear spring. if the clutch sheaves feel
loose pull on the sheaves in opposite ways and see how well they SNAP back
if it feels dead then I think its not forcing the front clutch back into low gear
(I hope I'm saying this right.)

I had the clutch sheaves too loose. which is why i pulled it apart this week and preloaded the clutch sheave by 1.5 turns. The belt was running about 1/2 in on the sheaves before.

Trust me, it snaps back now!

I'd test your g9 clutch for kicks and giggles. If that still doesnt work, its your belt...
