Default 93 EZGO top end speed

Hello out there in the BGW world. I have a 93 EZGO with the original motor that I have been restoring (aka getting rid of and hiding all the rust). The cart runs at it normal 12-14 mph and the batteries hold a good charge. Infact, after charging it 3 weeks ago and a few trips around the block, I'm still getting a reading around 37.4v. My question is; "is there any way to increase the top end speed with out spending alot?" Also, is there enough torque in this motor to make it up a steep hill?

I would think the motor was ok for occasional hills my 95 has stock motor and climbs a pretty good long steep grade several times every weekend during the summer and is fine it will definitly slow down on the steep grades. how old are the batteries that may be the deciding factor as to whether it will climb or not, test the batteries individualy and see what they read and maybe load test them

Short answer:

Speed/Torque = $$$

Increase voltage to 48v.
Higher amp controller rated for voltage and then you can send the motor to a motor shop for a rewind.

Assuming the cart is ESC equipped.

Good luck.
