No Reverse in 96 CC DS Electric
Hello all,
I signed up yesterday after finding some informative information on this website. I was able to identify my model which is a Club Car DS Electric Golf Car (1996/10) V-Glide 36 volt electric powered vehicle (Serial: A9642-536613). I topped up all the batteries with distilled water and charged it for 24 hours. This morning, it goes in forward if I slowly press the accelerator, if I rapidly mash it, it shakes violently and then goes forward. When I put it in reverse I hear the buzzing noise and when i press the accelerator it attempts to go back but just shakes a little and then nothing, if you comes off the pedal and try again it does the same. Any hints? |

Are you certain, because forward goes very fast once you slowly press the acc. pedal, I'm gonna check the batteries now with a digital multimeter.

Re: No Reverse in 96 CC DS Electric
i,m positive, you need to load test them not just check voltage......how old are they? its possible that you may just have a few that are failing under load but from your 1st post when you just press pedal down and it shakes and sputters......that along with failing reverse is lack of battery power........reverse only uses half speed thats why it quits all togather.....just went thur this exact thing with a 93 cart......but trust me you have a battery problem........and yes if you slowly press pedal it will go BUT how far?? load test the batteries you,ll find your problem......................

Re: No Reverse in 96 CC DS Electric
you can tape the probes of your meter to the correct battery terminals and drive cart or try and drive cart and watch what the meter drops to.............do this with each battery................. or you can get a battery load tester and test each one, your batteries can show perfectly good voltage but as soon as put them under load they fail.........write #,s down and post them................................
