The intake valves seem to be made from very soft metal and wear down quickly if the cart has been run without an air filter in place;I changed out a set in a 350 that was almost sharp as a knife on the edge.

I had a cart do this. I put new valves in the head and it still did this. I replaced the rocker arms and it fixed the issue. the lock nuts/adjuster were worn they wouldn't hold their setting.

Sorry,I didn't intend to accuse you of running it without a filter, just passing on what I've seen & been told by others about the valves in these little engines.

Urly Fire, to see if that is the problem, a quick fix would be to to take the nuts on the rockers off and add some loc-tite to the stud threads, then re-install the nuts. if the problem takes longer to return or goes way totally, you know what to replace. if it doesnt change anything, you can look elsewhere.

hope that helps
