Another Starter Generator Issue
Hey guys,
Hope you can provide me with some help. Starter generator running great in 2006 Precedent 350 for 18 months now. Bought on Amazon. Today after running for awhile, stopped for a few minutes. Tried to start and nothing. Heard the 'click' and voltmeter went down one volt. Kept trying, still nothing. Got out and turned the pulley a bit by hand. Then started fine, however with a bit of a groaning noise. Pulled battery and tested perfect. Happened a couple more times when I stopped. Remedy was the same. Any ideas for me? Hate pulling that starter out....A real pain! BTW, I probably put over 2000 miles on the cart each year. Thanks for any help / suggestions. Vince |

Re: Another Starter Generator Issue
Amazon starter tells the tell. 18 months, another clue.
Buy OEM starter and youll be good to go. Not really sure why your saying its a pain to change, that one is kinda easy. |

Re: Another Starter Generator Issue
I'm a big guy that has big hands. Brutal reaching into those tight spaces to remove wires, bracket, etc.
Please, I am ready to make an OEM purchase, however where?? Did some searching and everything I keep seeing is generic. Should an OEM have the marking of Club Car somewhere on it? Can you give me a site to order? Thanks again |

Re: Another Starter Generator Issue
Forewarning... OEM S/G's are double, sometimes triple the cost of the Amazon cheapo aftermarkets!
(I just thought I say that before you go into "sticker shock"!) Cart Parts Plus has a MUCH better aftermarket S/G then the cheapo's out there! Click...>>> https://www.cartpartsplus.com/golf-c...enerator-97-up Revolution Golf Cars sells nothing but Club Car OEM S/G's... Click...>>> http://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/starter-generator (click on pic once it's open for more info!) Both of these BGW sponsors have some of the highest customer service ratings around! Give them a call... I'm sure they'd be happy to help! |

Re: Another Starter Generator Issue
Thanks for the heads-up. I don't mind paying more if that darn thing lasts. I have gone through a few of these things now in the four years I have owned this cart. I want one that LASTS! At 65 y.o. and bordering on arthritic, would rather pay and do the job right and not have to replace. Will call these guys later as suggested.
