i have power to the coils and out of the coils but the points are not doing there job. my test light stays on when i do the test to see if the points are working right, even if i put a peace of paper in between the contacts i do not know what could cause this anyone have any ideas?

When the motor is turning over, do the points close all the way? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when the points close, they ground the power to the coil and thats what give the pulsing spark as the cam opens the points. The closing is what is grounding them! Thats why when they get dirty they don't ground like they should. Have you cleaned them with a file or sand paper? Also, where are you putting your test light? Have you looked into the condenser at all?

Hi, I have a 735 as well

any idea what year yours is?

whats the lever to the right of the shifter??? parking brake?

mine has only 1 lever coming from tunnel and has the parking brake on a flip lever on brake pedal

I don't know what year mine was and you are correct about the other lever being the parking brake. What is the shift pattern on your cart? mine was f-n-r. I have read some of them are 3 speeds is yours one of those? I ended up selling mine so I am probably not much of a help.

mine had a 3 speed put into it prior to me getting it, so I dont know the original pattern

but what I was told about the single speed trans...Id assume...forward was reverse, rear was forward
