Will not start if breather hose is connected
Would not start with the breather hose connected. when I hold my hand over the carburetor choking it,it will start. when I attach the hose it will not start. it will run without the hose connected but will flood out and smoke. any ideas.

Re: Will not start if breather hose is connected
I'm guessing this is for your 97 DS?
There is a duct that attaches to the bottom of the air box, that leads to the drivers side wheel well, I've heard that critters like to store acorns in the inlet of the duct for winter storage... (true story!) From what I understand, it's a somewhat easy fix... Remove the air box from the frame and duct, swish around a metal coat hanger in the inlet of the duct, and suck the debris out with a shop vac at the air box connection! (It helps if you raise the front end up with a jack, or use an uphill slope.) |

Where is the air intake on that air tunnel? Part of my trouble shooting on my recent post of FE350 runs then stops, was attempting to clean the passage but didn't know where the actual intake area was. Any diagrams or help is appreciated.

Here is the parts illustration, #7 is the duct, and the inlet is a small rectangle opening towards the center of the cart.

Take the hose off the carb and point it straight up. Bend over and breath into the hose. Test your choke while your there. If clogged use a compressor to clear box.

I'm sorry I should have said what model. it is a2003 gas club car. If I understand correctly,I need to make sure there is not an obstruction in the hose and breathe box.
