i just got my speed spring in today and installed it. i felt it was an easy way to be able to get the most out of your engine. its nice because its kind of like an extended stock governor, your are able to set the governor higher than a stock one without damaging your engine. it will take me awhile to find the sweet spot on it. i also just installed the main jet for lifted carts from cpp. didnt do anything to top end, but going up my street is literally up and i can definatley tell a difference there. instead of 16 up the hill i can go 20. still only about a 23mph top speed on level ground though. these numbers are off my gps so yes they are accurate. just some input for any one wondering what these two products will do.

I bought 4x4CC old 18hp briggs that bit the dust. As of now what I know it needs is a new rod and rod cap, either a new crank or fix mine, full rebuild kit, knn airfilter, timing key, comet 780 clutch, headers and mounting kit

I should have it INSTALLED for under 900 bucks then after a couple months of break in i will sell my 357 for around 500

If it does need a crank it would probably be cheaper to just do a short block. I'll check prices tomorrow

thanks tom, I can get a crank for 160 each rod is 50 so for 260 i have a new crank and rods. A new short black will be close to 600 I bet and my cylinder walls are good and my cam is good so really I just need crank and rods.

If ya would check for me and hollar back

Well, I just ordered a speed spring from CPP for my G2. We'll see how it works.

one of my friends has a step dad that works on small engines so I had him check out my crank and he said that with eratic acid and 1200 grit sandpaper my crank will be fixed. He said he has done this to many cranks much worse than mine and if it still needs turned he knows a guy that can do it.

My build is lookin cheap
