Question G14 Throttle type on curtis 1204M

Having trouble figuring out what setting or type i should do for a yamaha G14. the controller was upgraded by someone to a Curtis 1204M-5304. it has a jump when accelerating. tried using default parameters but then cart doesnt work. which one should i use?

Throttle Type 0 – 9 The 1204M/05M/09M/21M controllers accept a variety of throttle inputs. The
Throttle Type parameter can be programmed as follows:
0 2-wire potentiometer, 0–5kΩ input
1 2-wire potentiometer, 5kΩ–0 input
2 single-ended 0–5V input
3 2-wire potentiometer, 4.6kΩ–0 input
4 2-wire potentiometer, 5.5kΩ–0 input
5 2-wire potentiometer, 1kΩ–0 input
6 ITS input
7 6.3–10.6 V input
8 6–12 V input
9 single-ended 3-wire potentiometer, 0–5kΩ input.

Well, none of them match the 0-1k throttle used in G14e. You could get throttle sensor for a G19e and use type 0 or 9 (one of them would work). It would be plug & play.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Where does one look for the 0-1k information? I skimed through the service manual but didnt see it. and only one place that sold the box specified that part, I overlooked it ofcourse.

Assuming You don't have access to the other end of the potentiomer to change the range to be 1k-0Ω, it seems like you can use Type: 0 (0-5KΩ) and change the setting "Throttle Max %" to 20% or whatever the maximum value your throttle reaches with that throttle type setting.

Thanks, went with switching the throttle and using the G19 one on type 0 and it is working.

Make sure the "Throttle Max %" is also set to "20%" so the controller will provide maximum output when the throttle signal is at 1kΩ (20% of 5kΩ).

Edit: Never mind I see you changed the entire throttle rather than re-program the controller.

That is good info, Sergio. I havent used that controller often enough to know that parameter. I just threw out an idea I was sure would work.
