I noticed in your first post you said your battery exploded ? Have you checked this cart to see if it is overcharging ?? like maybe 18 volts.

Absolutely, Trig, i was about to suggest checking the voltage regulator as i have seen an ezgo bog down due to a faulty one drawing way too much current from the starter generator. another obvious thing to check is if the brakes are binding.

Thanks everyone. With work, 3 kids, other responsibilities, and trying to get ready for this trip I don't have a lot more spare time to tinker. That said, I didn't troubleshoot the voltage regulator. I instead ordered a brand new one and installed it after work today. I believe that was the last piece of the puzzle. I couldn't have done it without your help.

Recap: Cart had no power at all and would bog down with the smallest load. I replaced the clutches and belt which were an obvious necessity, as visible signs of breakdown were noticeable, but that didn't address the motor issue. Check 3 things if your robinson is having issues and bogging down 1) Make sure the spark plugs are properly gapped so you're not running on 1 cylinder 2) Adjust valves to make sure your getting the best compression (valves aren't stuck open or have too much lash) and 3) voltage regulator. All 3 of these things cost ~$45-$50.

work done to get to proper working order:
Drive clutch
28 degree driven clutch
Severe duty belt - standard size
K&N air filter
NGK spark plugs
Voltage regulator
Valve adjustment

Just be thankful you were not standing over the battery when it blew.
Glad you got it going.
