Back in the eighties, I installed a 5 hp briggs in a electric Harley 3 wheeler. I made a engine mount plate on the rear axle and bolted the motor and a comet torque converter(go cart) to it. I think I welded a sprocket to the pinion of the rear end but I may have bolted it on. The engine moved and was suported by the rearend only. The cart pulled like a dump truck uphill and would run around 12 to 15mph down the path.
I had no reverse and had to raise the seat to pull start it but we used it on the farm for another 10 years. The motor has been robbed and the seats are rotton but the cart is still here in a cow pasture.
