![]() Remove fuel line from the injector and see if you have a good flow of fuel into a container, and yes, the spec calls for 38 psi. If you get a good flow, remove the injector and take a look in the back where the fuel goes in and you may find it plugged with some dirt etc. clean this out as well as you can with carb/injector cleaner spray can and then fit the injector back to the fuel line. direct the injector into a jar or jug and crank the engine. you should see a very fine spray of fuel from the nozzle. If you do, re install and see if it will start. If not, you may have to have the injector professionally cleaned or replaced. It can be done diy but it aint easy LOL. I will link you to a few threads and a video if i can find either! Take a look at these posts. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...88&postcount=7 https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...5&postcount=15 On this next link is a video of a guy with the same problem and how to fix it if you have good pump pressure. It is a different machine, but the engine is identical. I know because we have these on our golf courses. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...6&postcount=19 If the injector is not clogged up It could be that the injector is not getting the pulse from the electronics and will be a completely different ball game, but the fact you ran out of fuel and likely picked up some crud from the bottom of the tank, the injector is the first place to look along with the pump. |

![]() Thanks so much for the great reply. After checking your attachments I went back to start doing more checking and found the fuel pump is barely pushing any fuel, definitely not 38psi. I had pulled the pump once and everything looked clean but I'll pull it again and make sure the screen on the bottom is clear. Any recommendations on how to prime the pump pump back up? I was told that there was no way to prime them, but it doesn't make sense that a new one would prime from empty but an old one couldn't re prime.

![]() It probably is just a diaphragm type pump and it is possible it got damaged when it ran dry.. I would think it would be tougher than that but..

![]() Hey All, So it was the fuel pump. I guess if you run out of gas you basically burn the fuel pump immediately. I replaced the $100 fuel pump and it fired right up. I had pulled the fuel hose off of the injector and gas was barely flowing out. After installing the new fuel pump it shoots gas. The only bummer was I bought a cheap fuel pump on eBay and it's much louder than the old one. Every time I stop it sounds like the stereo in on and I'm hearing static. But it runs, I'll deal with the noise. Thank you all for the advice!
