ok rifter so I need an independent suspension. understood. I feel like I wanted one of those no matter what because the motor and rear axle whatever kind it may be should be as one. free movement from the frame itself except for the springs or shocks between them. Basically in the front of the motor closest to where the steering area is I want to mount the motor frame on a swiveling point so it is free to move up and down with the rear axle but obviously with some suspension in between with enough tension to keep the whole thing down past clearance of the under frame of the cart.

Why would I want to shorten the width of the rear axle I was thinking it should be wider. I heard if its a live axle and its to wide it will be to hard to turn but I was thinking the rear should be at least somewhere between 35"-45"

The g2 is cvt factory but with a bike engine you take the driven clutch off and install a shaft collar welded to a sprocket. My problem with it was the chain was too short causing much noise and chain wear. This with other problems caused me to remove the bike engine and go back factory, miss the power!

Yea that's another reason I wanted to keep it simple with just a live axle and nothing more. because there isn't a lot of room to add in a cvt or trans from whatever to fix the gearing. unless which I was thinking of doing because itd look sweet I could cut the frame in half where it swoops down and meets the straight rebar and just extend the whole thing with more rebar right to were it needs to be for all of that to fit. then the chain could be nice and long like when it actually on a bike.

OK I just found this gas powered transaxle in a golf cart junkyard near where I live and he only wants $120 for it it's from an 89 club car . But he told me that if I put this on the cart with a 1000 cc motor I will just bust the casing apart eventually because it's aluminum and I can't handle that kind of torque. He recommended just putting on a sprocket with a live axle.

I did not go ahead and buy it because it's close by to go and get it and it doesn't look like anyone's going to be coming to get it anytime soon and I wanted to ask if it would work before I bought it seeing as it is aluminum casing

I used a live, straight axle.

Too bad the CC drive is on the wrong side.

That's a good deal, rear end, clutch, swing arm, brakes and shift cable for $120
