Well just to finish this thread in the event anyone runs into it and some later date.
I tore the starter/gen apart and the armature was black with residue from the brushes. I blew it out with air and sanded it down so it was clean, put it back together and back onto the cart and everything is fine. Starts every time. Case closed!   |
