92 club car conversion questions, new to the forum
Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and cart modification world. Really enjoy reading the posts here while trying to soak up all the information.
What I have is a 36v 92 club car that was my grandmas, it has a v glide switch and resistor coils (pretty sure) I have a high torque motor, alltrax spm 48500 controller, 400 amp hd solenoid, 400 amp reversing contactor, F&R club car rocker switch (for 2004-up precedent) 2ga wiring for upgrade to 48V system The cart will be lifted with off-road tires. I am confident I can do this with my uncles help, I just don't want to jump the gun and burn anything up. My main concern before I start is that the wiring diagrams I have don't exactly specify my cart. - I assume we are basically just rebuilding the cart to 48v and will make some of the old components unnecessary. .. but I could be completely wrong -Will the V glide stay? Will the resistor coils no longer be needed? I have read about the curtis pb-6, is this something I am missing that would replace the vglide? Any tips or help would be really appreciated, also any links to appropriate diagrams would be great. I can also post photos if needed. Thanks in advance |

Welcome to BGW!
Scottyb is your guy, he actually sells conversions kits for resistor carts. The resistor coils will go, but I think the v-glide stays. Also, we love pics! |

Welcome!
You can use the V-glide to be your throttle control. Check out this conversion, page 3, which is basically what your are doing. http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/golf...20CC1%20TK.pdf The Electronic V-Glide Resistors may need to be changed out to accommodate 48V, but you get the idea of how you can use the V-glide. The Resistor Coils behind batteries go away! |

jakesnake I am in columbia. beau i was looking at the diagram scotter provided... it looks like it still uses the vglide... is the pb-6 necessary or is it just a higher performance part?

That kit is for a 95+. The Vglide in your 92 will not work to operate a controller, you need a pb6 or other 0-5k device. I would contact Carts unlimited and work with them exclusively on this job. |
