Looks like either a G2 or G9, I would guess G9. Well made cart easy to work on. Sounds like it needs engine work, not sure about the lift...homemade?

Well he can't give me much info about it. Says that he took it in on trade last summer and has basically drove it around the campgrounds. Other than smoking, it has no known issues. Radio & lights installed. 250cc engine & clutch will come with the deal.

smokeing issue is a easy fix usually valves need cleaned at least on two that I worked on or top end redone couple hundred bucks it will be good for another 20 years

The axle moves forward as you push the rear of the swing arm down (lift). This doesn't mean it's homemade, but I'll bet it is.
