Default Driving my ez Go hit the brakes herd a grinding sound

So I am in the middle of camping, I was driving my golf cart when I went to stop...I herd a grinding sound. Didn't think anything of it. Went back to it put it in reverse and nothing. I hit the gas the clutch engages all the belts move but it will not move forward or backwards. Everything else is fine.

Any help would be appreciated very much.

Thanks

Probably stripped a hub;have someone watch the axles while you rev it up enough to engage the clutch and if one of them spins (in the center of the wheel) that's the one that's stripped, just replace it and you'll be back in bussines.

Well I checked it. I cant see any axles. It looks like a differential. I took the center cap off the middle of the wheel and hit the gas and that wasn't spinning or anything. ??

Jack it up and see if the wheels turn free?

The wheels spin freely. It sounds as if there's a broken or stripped gear in the diff?

Like big mule said, stripped hubs are the most common problem, the hub is splined for the axle and often strip out.

Alright. When I get home I'll check it out again. I'm about 7 hours away from my house.

So to check for that I have to
Remove the center caps so I can see the axle nut?
Have someone hit the gas so I can see of anythings spinning?
If the nut starts spinning I have bad hubs?
If I don't see the nut spinning then it's something internal?
And I have to check both sides

So it was my hub. I jacked it up and checked it out. So I'm on my way to pick up a new hub. Thanks guys!
