Default 1995 club car motor upgrade questions

So i have a 1995 club car ds 36 volt with the V-glide system. I want to upgrade my motor because it is really slow, it goes about 10 mph. If i buy a new high speed motor, can the V-glide system handle it or will it just melt/break?

I think PQ motor runs with out any problem with standard options from the factory. But more informed will be right with you.

Sonny

PS If you do get a new motor. I would like to talk to you about the old motor. I need one for a project I'm working one. You can send me a Priv. message .Thanks

I am not sure if it could handle it, but if you wanted to go nuts, you could upgrade to a 48v system with a modern solid state drive and a big controller and high speed motor. Now that would give you plenty of speed.
How fast are you wanting to go, and how much torque do you need?

I don't need a ton of speed because I am going to lift it 3 or 4 inches but I am going to be off roading with it and driving on golf cart paths so I was looking for a motor with enough torque to smash through mud but still have good speed to keep up with friends.

For more torque increase the speed controller size. The stock motor can produce more torque if you let it access more amperage.... any aftermarket motor will perform better with more amperage too.
