slow club car

I need help with my 2007 precedent. when I accelerate the cart runs fine until I get to 3/4 throttle and then it dies. when I release the pedal it starts running again. I have replaced the speed controller, MCOR unit and the speed sensor twice. it is getting expensive. I borrowed a diagnostic unit and it tells me the speed sensor is bad. It is hard for me to believe that two new sensors could be bad.

A bad speed sensor won't cause a car to die and come to a complete stop. It'll cause it to go into limp mode (8MPH) but it definitely won't keep it from running. This sounds more like a weak battery issue to me.

Check each battery reading and post the results here. . .

Test them under a load as well. You might have a weak battery or two that will drag the whole pack down.

Is this your original motor? How is your pedal response while going in reverse... does it do the same thing at 3/4 throttle?

just for the record..... my friend got a new speed sensor from a club car dealer in kingston ny and it was DEFECTIVE from the get go......

Dealer would not make good on it ....i had to rebuild it using an allegro hall effect sensor replacment.

but "DAWG" is right..a bad sensor will only slow you down not bring you to a stop....sounds like battery related or bad battery terminals....

charge you batteries wait 8 hours after charge and read each cell with a HYDROMETER ...to see if a cell is bad ( they only cost about $4 from auto parts store )

Good info, I think the batteries might be the problem. They are the original batteries and that would make them almost five years old and I don't know how they were maintained at the course before I got the the cart. I will check the batteries under load collectively and individually, also the specific gravity. Thank you all for the advise and I may have more questions in the future.
