Default HP of orig motor on 2000.5 DS Club Car

I ordered a new set of cables for my 48volt 2000.5 club car since I plan on getting new batteries. However, once I got to replacing all the cables, I noticed that I was missing one cable that ran from the controller to the motor (A2). If you look at the wiring diagram in the stickys, it does not show this cable. It shows the white wire running directly to the A2 post on the motor, however, my white wire runs to the controller first and then a smaller cable runs to the motor.
My question is, Is this controller the original controller on the cart or has this controller been replaced? When I look at the cart manual, it shows a Turf 1 & 2, Carryall 1 & 2, all have this controller with it wired this way. I know that the place I got this had some Carryall's and thought maybe they swapped them out.

Also, The HP on the motor is 3.75. Is that what was typically on the factory stock cart in 2000?

Thanks for your help. I just assumed I had all original parts when I bought it, but I am noticing a few things that make me think it has been modified.

Congrats you've been upgraded. Factory setup was a 225Amp controller with a 3.1HP motor... You're equipped with the 300Amp controller and a 3.75HP motor. The 300Amp controller has an A2 terminal because it's equipped with a self-braking feature that slows the car to a stop before it'll begin to run the other direction. It's more or less a safety feature to keep from damaging the gears inside the differential if someone was to switch gears while rolling and slam the pedal down. About the wire you say is a smaller size.... I'd look into that. It should be a number 6 gauge wire all the way from the F&R switch to the controller (A2 post), then down to the motor (A2 Post).

Thanks, I thought someone had upgraded it. I should have said shorter cable, not smaller. I had to go to Autozone and buy a 4 GA 24" wire to complete the rewire from the controller to the A2 Motor post.

Thanks.

That'll work.. I like that setup. It's a pretty good balance of torque and speed.

Could I use this controller and motor when I decide to lift the cart and put bigger wheels on it? Would I be happy with it or want more?

That all depends on what you're planning on doing with it and how fast you wanna go

Do some off road, nothing too extreme. Dirt trails and paths where I would go deer hunting. Mostly the cart is for riding through the neighborhood. I do have a steep back yard and would want to ride it back there to get items from the basement.

I'll put the lift on first and then see how it goes.

I think you'll be fine... You should be somewhere in the 18 Mile Per Hour range once lifted.
