Default Batteries and temperature

How much of an affect does cold weather have on 6 or 8 volt batteries. Are they the same as a car type for cold weather? Just noticing the little 36volt 84CC which was topped up the other day seemed a little weak today when loading on the trailer. It has been out the last few days hovering around the freezing mark during the day and below that at night.

Battery capacity is reduced as temp goes down. Battery capacities are specified at room temp of 77 degree F. At freezing, 32F, is reduced about 20%, and at 22F around 50%.

If that is true, and you are not supposed to let your pack below 50%, does that mean I should be using my cart in the winter?

Ok but what is the total amp of a 48 volt pack at the solenoid? Setting still.

Buscopat brings up a good question for those of us living in the cold. Is it better to use our carts in the cold knowing how hard it is on the batteries or leave them on a good maintainer
