Default Re: Shorted my EZGO and now it won’t move

Took it to a shop. I was right in my suspicions. It was the controller. Had it replaced and it’s back running. Just blows my mind coming from the electrical field, not dc, ac, but still, there’s no protection. Guy told me there’s none from the factory. I got a good mind to call E Z Go and have a conversation. I know it was completely my fault. I threw that money in the lake after ripping it up and burning it on the dock. But still. No fuses. We had fuses in the late 1800’s for gods sake. Ok rant over. Thanks for the help guys

If you look at it from the E-Z-GO business model point of view... Private cart owners were/are expected to bring their carts to one of the authorized E-Z-GO service centers for all service needs, where trained technicians would diagnose and repair the issues. If you choose to service your cart yourself, you "get what you pay for". Having said that, I'm not knocking your rant. I just wanted you to look at it from their point of view.

Alltrax makes aftermarket controllers that are polarity and short protected, and they usually cost less/perform much better than the stock controllers.
